Choosing a pump for the fountain

Today, there are many pumps for fountains and ready-made fountain installations on sale. How to understand the large range and choose the right unit? First of all, it is necessary to take into account the depth of the place in which the fountain is planned to be installed. Other criteria for choosing a suitable fountain pump are its performance, the presence or absence of fountain nozzles in the kit, the length of the power cord, and the presence of a filter material that will protect the pump itself from dirt particles entering the rotary chamber. Before making a purchase, find the height of the water jet lifting, as a rule, it should be about half the diameter of the reservoir and should not go beyond it. For example, at a diameter of a pond 4 by 4 meters, the water lift jet should be 1.5 to 2 meters, but this rule does not apply to all fountain nozzles.

Fountain pumps are safe from the point of view of electrical safety, but if you decide to swim in the pond, the manufacturers recommend to disconnect the device from power just in case. Modern equipment differs from industrial counterparts by the durability of work without turning off, which allows you to enjoy the fountain for several seasons. Before installing the pump in the reservoir, it is necessary to provide it with a hard and flat surface. This is recommended for more robust pump stability and to prevent silt and debris from entering the engine unit. When installing equipment it is recommended to strictly follow the instructions, not to turn on the device without water, and regularly clean the nodes and mechanisms of the pump for the fountain.
