More Master Classes Announced

As part of the development policy here at Live and Unsigned, we are always keen to provide acts with as much information and advice as possible to aid in developing their career in the music industry. We regularly offer courses and master classes and have already given out exclusive master classes to acts auditioning this year, courtesy of ICMP www.icmp.co.uk.

And now there’s more on offer! They’ll be taking place throughout March and April. The following courses won’t be applicable to all acts but further courses will be available in the near future. The courses are offered on a first come first serve as places are limited. Only one course is available per act or band and only one member of an act/band can apply. Here’s a sneak peek...

Jon Gomm – Guitar, March 11th 7-9pm

A graduate of the Guitar Institute, songwriter and performer Jon Gomm will be giving his exclusive masterclass. The singer/songwriter is a truly individual acoustic solo performer, who has an incredible virtuosi guitar style. Using only his acoustic guitar, Jon can make a variety of sounds from the snare drum, bass drum and bongo sounds to teasing high harmonics from the guitar for synthesizer-like effects. He’s played many high profile gigs and supported some of the most respected names on the acoustic circuit including Tommy Emmanual, Nick Harper and Bob Brozman. He has performed at numerous festivals including The Italian National Guitar Festival and The London Guitar Show at Wembley. Definitely a master class to attend!

Pat Petrillo – Drums, March 25th 7-9pm

At the forefront of the drumming community, Pat Petrillo will be bringing his wealth of experience to his master class at the ICMP. Pat has not only been a drummer for legends such as Gloria Gaynor and Patti LaBelle, but he’s also a world-class clinician. Pat’s class will cover most things drumming, including hand techniques, grooves, fill ideas and 'the business of music'. He’ll also be available for a Q&A session after, so if you’re a drummer make sure you don’t miss it!

Laurence Cottle – Bass, April 15th 7-9pm

Laurence has played with many of the world’s great monosyllabic musicians including Sting, Cher and Seal and will be on hand to offer his advice and guidance to acts attending this masterclass. Laurence’s background in music is diverse. From playing bass on Headless Cross with Black Sabbath to performing on the soundtrack of Britney Spears movie Cross Roads, his experience is undoubtedly varied. He has also worked with Eric Clapton and The Bee Gees and has composed music that’s been featured in shows like Friends, Entertainment Tonight and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
