MTV’s Joanne Dorken Confirms As A Judge For Live and Unsigned

MTV’s Jo Dorken has just confirmed her place on the Live and Unsigned 2010 judging panel! With an extensive background in music journalism and as part of the MTV UK team, Jo is a valuable addition to this year’s panel.

Born and bred in Essex, Jo has always had a passion for music and journalism. She began her inevitable career into the industry at University, studying Journalism and working with some of the biggest publications in the country. Her CV boasts placements with the BBC, The Telegraph, OK! Magazine and Reveal.

After completing her degree, Jo went on to become a successful Entertainment Journalist and worked as a Junior Writer for the Daily Mirror. But her passion for music eventually led her to MTV – arguably the biggest source for music in the UK.

Jo is currently an Online Writer for MTV.co.uk, reporting and blogging on all the daily music news and celebrity gossip and she’s also a floor manager for MTV’s live sessions. As part of her role, Jo regularly attends high profile shoots and events and recently reported from the Libertines press conference. She is also a regular reporter at Festivals, including last years Oxegen and Lovebox and most recently she was MTV’s representative at the NME awards.

She’s also interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry including 50 Cent, Akon, Calvin Harris, JLS, The Script, The Noisettes and Marina and The Diamonds.
