Open Mic UK Winner Embarks On International Tour!

Megan Thomas, who won National music competition Open Mic UK in 2009, is getting set to play to some huge crowds, as she begins her first International tour later this year!

Megan, who is only 16 years old, will be playing at the Dean Jones Junior/Casa Alianza Fundraising events throughout 2010. She will be performing as part of the Record Breaking Round The World flight for charity, to help raise awareness of the streets in South America and to offer aftercare and family support in some of the worlds poorest countries. The tour is in conjunction with Casa Alianza and some smaller charities.

The singer’s talent has already taken her all over the country. As well as impressing judges in 2009's Open Mic UK, she's also been a resident pianist and singer at the prestigious Hard Days Night Hotel on Matthew Street, Liverpool and played at numerous regional shows and events. She cites Ludovico Eienaudi, Ella Fitzgerald, Alicia Keys and Van Morrison as musical influences, and as well as preparing for her world tour, she is also busy working on her music and developing her profile.

Megan will play her first event on June 11th at the Park Lane in London and will jet off later in the year to perform in New York City and Sydney!
