PRIZES

There’s over £100,000 in prizes up for grabs throughout the competition and at every stage there is a chance to win prizes and win big! There are plenty of Festival slots up for grabs in this year’s competition including Frimchett, Tour Fest, Independence Rock and Hellfire Festival. But it’s not just the prizes on offer, it’s the opportunities. The competition gives opportunities and exposure to all acts that enter. Live and Unsigned offers competitors the chance to perform live to capacity audiences in some of the UK’s most prestigious music venues. Additionally, the Grand final provides acts with the chance to impress and meet many guests from record labels, agencies and the entertainment industry. Grand finalists also get to play at the 02 in London and share the stage at the Live and Unsigned Festival!

MAIN PRIZES

As well as the many prizes en route, the acts that make it to the Grand Final will be competing for the title of the UK’s Best Live and Unsigned Act 2010, and for the main prize! The overall winner of Live and Unsigned will be taking away a comprehensive winners package which includes;

  • Management and recording contract with Future Music Management
  • Initial winners £15,000 publicity package (publications depending on the winner) including pages in Kerrang, Q Magazine, NME, The Fly, Acoustic magazine, Guitar Buyer, Who’s Jack, Rewind Magazine, Mojo Magazine, Flavour Magazine, Drummer Magazine and Bass Guitar Magazine.
  • Development of a clothing brand and sponsorship courtesy of Extreme State. Working with Extreme State’s Creative Director and business team, the winner will work on visuals and graphics that embody their image and they’ll get to design a clothing collection to be sold on their website, at gigs and in retail.
  • Further £15,000 minimum for single release package including; Studio time for single release and promotional campaign.
  • UK tour of up to 100 shows including covering expenses up to £7,500
  • A comprehensive consultation package (implementation where applicable) including– social marketing, image, brand.
  • Page editorial feature in the O2’s venue Magazine distributed to 200,000 O2 attendee’s
  • Coverage on leading music websites and blogs including homepage of L&U website and Subba Cultcha, Woho, Flavour and Who’s Jack.

 

ICMP DEVELOPMENT COURSES

There will be development for all Regional finalists in the competition with free exclusive, professional master classes on offer courtesy of ICMP www.icmp.co.uk/masterclasses.aspx. Regional winners will get the opportunity to attend extensive courses and work with some of the best names in the music industry. Master classes from ICMP include song writing development, tuition from world class drummers, music business, guitar, bass and vocal development. We have already, in conjunction with ICMP, provided Master classes with US bass player Reggie Washington and a songwriter’s class with Paul Simm, who has written chart toppers for Sugababes and produced albums for Groove Armada. Other master classes have included time with world renowned vocal coach Dorian Holley who is currently vocal coach for TV show ‘American Idol’. Dorian has worked with the world’s leading artists including: Stevie Wonder, Mary J Blige, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown and Christina Aguilera. In these exclusive master classes acts are offered advice, guidance and constructive critique.

EXPOSURE AWARDS

Whether you’re competing at the Regional Finals or make it through to the Live and Unsigned Festival, everyone who takes part in Live and Unsigned will have the chance to win prizes. Amongst the goodies up for grabs will be the Exposure Awards – awarded to the acts that generate the most publicity in their region. Prizes include;

  • Recording time in the recording studio of the winning acts choice worth £250 or a Marshall Amp which for the Regional Finals will be a Marshall MA 50 Combo Amp – worth £548! And the Area winners will receive an even better amp, a Marshall JVM205C amp which retail at £899! courtesy of sponsors Marshall. If the act that wins is a band, they will win a Marshall amp.
  • MUZU TV award; awarded to the act that achieves the most views on MUZU. The winning act in each region will feature as the Unsigned artist of the week, have website homepage coverage and brand advertising (including 50,000 banner impression adverts) on the MUZU.TV website worth £500. The overall winner who achieves the most views on MUZU.TV for their Live and Unsigned filmed footage will be announced at the Grand Final. They will receive an exclusive all expenses paid trip to Dublin to make a music video in MUZU.TV studio, support slot in a leading Dublin music venue and documentary video of the trip, which will all be a main feature on the MUZU.TV home page and Blog for a month.
  • Extreme exposure award; This award is given to the act that achieves (what will be considered) the most ‘high profile’ publicity material and/or stunt in each Region. This is considered the most effective type of publicity – a large or ‘high profile’ organisation publicising your act in the competition enables a wider exposure for you. Extreme Element will be giving a fantastic prize away to the overall winner of each Region. The overall winner in each Region will be awarded a prize of up to £300 from over 600 choices of Extreme Sports Courses and Outdoor Activity Days across the UK or up to £300 in Extreme clothing.

CATEGORY WINNERS

Throughout the competition there is of course the fantastic opportunity to play in some of the best venue’s throughout the country. And of course ultimately at the Grand final at the best live music venue in the country, the 02 in London! There are plenty of other prizes up for grabs for genre category winners including Marshall equipment, Extreme State clothing, exposure and exclusive festival slots.

Category partners will also be awarding some great prizes. The winner of the Rock category will be awarded with an all expenses paid trip to India to play at the biggest festival in Asia and represent the UK in a global face off! The band will be flown to Mumbai, India to perform at Independence Rock. As well as receiving flights, accommodation and spending money – they’ll also have the chance to play their music on a global stage across Asia’s TV Network channels and be in with a chance of winning over $50, 000 worth of prizes including $30, 000 in cash!

Rockstar Energy will be awarding one band from the Rock category a slot on the Rockstar UK roster, which includes entry into events, website coverage, a blog, memorabilia and a year’s supply of energy drinks to keep them energised on tour! The Indie winner will be featured on the Front page of Who’s Jack Magazine and will also be interviewed on JACK TV who have interviewed the likes of Marina and The Diamonds, Frank Musik and Band of Skulls. Flavour Magazine will interview the pop/acoustic/urban winner and feature them in a double page spread, online coverage and they’ll also be doing a TV interview. Some of the biggest names in the industry have been featured in Flavour including JLS, Alexandra Burke and Pixie Lott. Oyster House Media will be awarding a prize to the winner of the Alternative category, who’ll be featured in a full page interview, generating fantastic exposure and coverage
